We're GIVING BACK to WIRES EMERGENCY FUND
Hundreds of fires over past few months have burnt over 4.9 million hectares of land in NSW alone. Many animals were already struggling with a lack of water and food due to the drought. With the fires destroying unprecedented amounts of habitat, food shortages have increased and lack of suitable habitat will be a significant long-term challenge for surviving wildlife. It is estimated by Ecologists at the University of Sydney that over 800 million animals have been affected in Australia since September 2019.
WIRES have been serving wildlife and the community for over 30 years and are Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation. WIRES is dedicated to the protection and preservation of native animals and are the perfect donation partner to support in this time of need.
Our mission since our founding was to support the Australian community in any way that we could. With the sheer devastation and loss of land, life and wildlife, the Sydney Sock Project will be donating 100% of proceeds from our KOALA sock to WIRES.
Now more than ever our statement stands true: “A small action leads to big change”.
